Happy Holidays!

It’s that time of year again. We re busy gift-wrapping and rushing out
orders. This year we’ve added something to make shopping at Videoranch a
lot easier. Live customer service. There are buttons all over Videoranch
that say Click Here For Live Help . All you have to do is click on one of
those buttons and one of us will chat live with you. It couldn t be easier.
We ll help you find what you re looking for. Live Help will be available
from 9 AM to 5 PM Pacific Time, but during the holidays, we re going to try
to be available earlier in the morning and at night, as well. Don t
hesitate to give this a try. You won t be chatting to some person who has
no idea what they re talking about. You ll be speaking to a genuine,
certified, grade A, Videoranch hand.

Lastly, whether you find yourself alone for the holidays or you just need a
break from your family, VR3D is a great place to hang. There s a good
chance you ll bump into some cool people in there ready for conversation,
and the weather s always great. Be sure and stop in. By the way, Nez was in
VR3D last night for an hour. Lot s of people taking long walks with him
around the ranch. If you need to download the VR3D browser, go to

For UK members mainly – just seen in our new Cable Guide magazine that
there’s a programme due to be shown on VH1 (UK & Ireland) on Wed 5th
December at 8pm called Hey Hey We’re The Monkees: an in-depth look at
the life of one of the world’s most enduringly popular bands. Group
members talk about their unique careers, from auditioning for parts
in the television show band to the recent reunion tour.

This may have been on before but it’s new to me, so will definitely be
watching!

From: Josh Arakelian

Hello,

My name is Josh Arakelian and I’m a singer/songwriter from Boston,
Massachusetts. On Saturday, December 1 at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge,
Massachusetts, I will be performing a tribute to one of my favorite
songwriters, Mike Nesmith. Mr. Nesmith’s songs mean a great deal to me and
I’ve always wanted to pay tribute to his beautiful and heartfelt
compositions. Well, I’m finally going to get the chance to sing and play
some of my favorite songs and just wanted to drop you a line and let you
know about the show. Please feel free to post this show on your site and
please tell all of your friends in the New England area.

Here are the specifics of the show:

Show starts at 9:30
The Lizard Lounge
1667 Mass Ave (under the Cambridge Common restaurant)
between Harvard and Porter Sqs.
Cambridge, MA, (617) 547-0759.

Many Thanks,
Josh Arakelian

Here’s the official Press Release:

Saturday December 1 there will be a special show at the Lizard Lounge
dedicated to celebrating the songs of various talented songwriters. John
Cale, the Replacements, Michael Nesmith, and the Bee Gees have all been
lauded over the years for the groundbreaking songwriting achievements, and
a group of esteemed local musicians have gathered together to pay tribute
to them, separately, thankfully.

Josh Arakelian (ex-Boy Wonder) is the centerpiece of this event, as he
presents an ambitious selection of the best from Michael Nesmith. The
songs will span from his early work with the Monkees through the last First
National Band album, Nevada Fighter. “Michael Nesmith is one of my
favorite writers. His songs have such an honest and beautiful quality to
them. I want people to see him as the brilliant songwriter that he is.”
Joining him are Jay Natale (ex-Den Mothers), Paula Kelley, Aaron Tap, Drew
Farmer (Astroslut), and Steve Malone (the Confidence Men).

Rounding out the night will be New England’s best and only Bee Gees
tribute band, the Boy Joys. The Boy Joys have been playing faithful, yet
raw, versions of the brothers Gibb’s songs, covering the period from 1966 –
1977, for three years now. Their credo is: “by bludgeoning audiences with
one great song after another, it generally becomes impossible to ignore how
good they are.”

Paul Natale (ex-Den Mothers and Boy Wonder) and friends will be ripping
through a set of Replacements covers.

Ad Frank, a fine songwriter in his own right, will perform the songs of
John Cale, the under-rated “other” member of the Velvet Underground. Says
Ad, “When I first heard John Cale’s vocal delivery of the word “dead”
(“Damn Life,” 1984), my life was forever changed. His music is a
beautiful, tumultuous marriage between guts and beauty, between cynicism
and hope, to which I aspire to this day.”
