I just picked up the March 2004 issue of MOJO music magazine (a
British publication) and was delighted to see Michael Nesmith’s
FNB’s Magnetic South listed as one of “the 67 lost albums YOU MUST
OWN!”. The album recieves great praise in the review.

“filled with deliciously compact and enigmatic honky-tonk songs, the
whole concoction was filtered through Nesmith’s unique sense of
irony, satirizing and worshipping the old-time country tradition in
the same breath,”

and the article places Nesmith amongst pretty illustrious company.
Some other artists in MOJO’s “treasure trove” of albums “forgotten
or unfairly ignored” include Woody Guthrie, Johnny Cash, Elvis
Presley, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley and Neil Young.
