Hi, Brad—
People Magazine’s 1/20/02 edition has the following article on pg. 20:

ON THE BLOCK: THE MONKEE HOUSE
If all goes according to plan, Monkee Micky Dolenz’s Sherman Oaks, Calif.,=

home will soon be sans-simian. The 56-year-old drummer is selling the 2,200=

sq. ft, four-bedroom house and moving to larger lodgings. What’ll you get
for $625,000? Hardwood floors, a master bedroom with two huge walk-in
closets and a Jacuzzi. Best feature: a private balcony with spectacular
views where Dolenz- who still tours with the band 33 years after “The
Monkees,” the NBC sitcom that launched the group, went off the air- often
enjoyed pleasant San Fernando Valley Sundays.

BONUS: There’s also a pic of the house!

–Robin Williams, Debbie Allen and Sandy Duncan have agreed to appear in
Cartoon Network’s first “13th Annual Cartoon Network Fancy Anvils Award
Show Program Special,” a tongue-in-cheek special airing live (7-9 p.m.) on
March 23 – the night before the Oscars. The special, spoofing awards shows,
will be “hosted” by Cartoon Network standard-bearer Johnny Bravo. Williams
will introduce one of the five nominees for “Best Cartoon,” and Allen will
present a retrospective of “Dance in Cartoons.” Viewers can vote online for
up to six categories – including “Best Vehicle” and “Best Gratuitous Hiney
Shot.” And what would an awards show be without a Lifetime Achievement
Award? That honor goes to Scooby Doo, who will be given his award by Duncan
(a former co-star). The tribute to Scooby Doo will feature an all-star
reunion by his “New Scooby Doo Movies” co-stars, including appearances by
Jonathan Winters, Don Knotts, Tim Conway, Phyllis Diller, Jerry Reed and
Monkee Davy Jones. Cher also co-starred with Scooby Doo in “The Secret of
Shark Island.” Will she be there?

Hi Gang,

Two items of interest. Shoe Suede Blues’ show at the Hungry Tiger on
March 14th has been canceled. We hope to put a new show in on that
night at another location.

Shoe Suede Blues will be adding a new show on Sunday, March 24th at
Bayou Blues Cafe in White Marsh, MD. This show will take place after
the band’s Mojo Mania fan party at Club 66 in Edgewood. Details for
this show will be forthcoming in the next few days.

Take care,
Bonnie

I wanted to let you all know about a book I recently got for Christmas that
I thought you might find interesting. It’s called The 1960s Scrapbook,
compiled by Robert Opie, published by New Cavendish Books. Opie has made
several “decade” scrapbooks, where he collects fashions, furnishings, toys,
food, magazines, movies, etc. and then photographs them like pages in a
scrapbook. Because he is British, many of the products pictured are only
known to those in the British Isles, but there are still some familiar to u=
s
in the States–including the Monkees. On the page picturing packages of
candy cigarettes, there is a whole series of packages with the Monkees–two
show all 4 of them and there is one each of Mike and Micky. There’s also a
picture of the Monkees Annual with Micky on the cover and the text mentions
the t.v. show and the song “I’m a Believer.” So, even amongst all the
British fashions and Beatles, the Monkees were an important export! If
you’re interested, this tall book (15″) is available from Amazon.com. It’s
been fun looking at all the tiny pictures–it’s truly a step into the past.

From: “cribble”

Dear Brad
I just got back from Casino Rama and seeing the Monkees last night. When I
was 8 – 15 years old and a huge fan my dad was strict and wouldn’t let me g=
o
to the concerts. In the 80’s I was married to a jealous jerk who wouldn’t
let me go (and I was stupid enough to listen). So last night after 35 years
of waiting I went to my first Monkees concert. I was able to go up to the
stage and pass a note to Davey asking him to sign my program for Sean (my
12 yr. old that was so disappointed he couldn’t go that I told you about).
After the show they signed autographs and I even got them to make it out to
Sean. He was thrilled, so was I. I got to actually talk to Mickey and
Davey. What a night. I got lots of pics. None mag quality but great
memories for me. It was great, great, great. It’ll be the buzz around our
house for a long time.

bye for now Carol
