A false notice had gone up on Facebook about a live online Monkees concert with Michael Nesmith and Micky Dolenz that was to take place in late March. Monkees manager and archivist Andrew Sandoval has confirmed that “There is nothing legitimate planned”. Monkees promoter Jodi Ritzen had spoken directly to Micky Dolenz and he confirmed that the news of the online concert is false.

In other Monkees news, Sandoval on his Twitter page confirmed that he has finished his update of his book ‘The Monkees: The Day by Day story of the ’60s TV Pop Sensation.’ “The new book goes in depth on the years 1942-1970 and runs more than 700 pages.”

Regarding if the years after 1970 into the ’80s and beyond will be covered, Sandoval adds, “Given the length and amount of new material uncovered, the other years will have to wait for separate volumes. I will have info here about reserving books – it is a limited edition – in the next week. The book will be available directly from me by June (if not sooner).

There will be signed and numbered copies at one price in hardback and unsigned, unnumbered copies in softback at a lower price. Because of the deluxe presentation, weight, length and limited nature of the book, it will be more expensive than your standard, mass-produced item.

There is no fixed date yet, but the lower numbered books will be offered at a separate price bracket in a more elaborate package with extras.”
More news on Andrew Sandoval’s Monkees book update as they develop.
