The Detroit concert was beyond awesome. The theater was the perfect spot for this extraordinary reunion concert. I felt like I was 13 again. Everything was perfect.
I am very anxious for Tuesday night as I will be attending the concert in my hometown of South Bend. The Morris is also a very special venue for a concert and I am sitting rather close to the stage.This is my 4th concert. I first saw The Monkees in Des Moines, Iowa, on August 6, 1967. This was 4 days after my 13th birthday. I had an opportunity to hang out with the Monkees at the motel prior to the concert. I didn’t meet Mike, but I saw Peter sun bathing and napping by the pool.He was friendly but I didn’t want to disturb his rest. Micky was taking tons of pictures including pictures of my brother and me. Davy was in a little fenced in area on a putting green. He let me join him there. He was protective of me as I had a broken collarbone and my arm was in a sling. What an amazing way to celebrate a 13th birthday. I will always be grateful to my parents for taking me to Des Moines from South Bend for that concert!
I also saw the Monkees in a reunion concert in South Bend at Notre Dame and I saw Davy perform at a Summerfest Festival in South Bend’s twin city of Mishawaka, Indiana.
Tommorrow should really be perfect!
