Mickey Dolenz: Proud to be a Monkee from Muskogee

When Mickey Dolenz is asked about The Monkees, he sometimes likes to point out that era represents a small percentage of his life and he has done other things.

Now, Mickey is having fun competing on the CMT program “Gone Country,” a series in which people not ordinarily associated with country music compete for the end-of-season surprise of recording a country single with John Rich as producer.

Contestants collaborate with each other, professional country songwriters and perform in a variety of places.
