Hey, hey, it’s the Monkees, and what better way to celebrate your Sunday night then by listening to their music live while they perform at Wolf Trap this weekend.
As a little girl I remember watching The Monkees on TV, which featured band members Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork, Davy Jones and Micky Dolenz. Together, they cast as a rock band that went on zany adventures week to week.
The show originally aired from 1966 to 1968 and became popular again the early 1980s, which led to a series of reunion tours and new records featuring various incarnations of the band’s lineup. The group went on to sell 50 million records worldwide.
