ROCKERS and jocks alike will be butting heads in Orlando tomorrow for a
two-day opening celebration of the Loews Hard Rock Hotel at the
Universal Theme Park. Expected guests at the 650-room hotel include
Garth Brooks, Jakob Dylan – who will perform with his band, the
Wallflowers – the Monkees, C-Note and Run DMC. Ogling the rock
memorabilia will be Hulk Hogan and the wrestler formerly known as Sable,
Giants coach Jim Fassel, Jason Sehorn, and “Baywatch” babe Gena Lee
Nolin.

the Monkees were mentioned on the BBC Radio 2 programme ‘Sounds of the 60’s=

on Saturday 17th February. as the name says, it is simply a (2 hour)
programme of purely 60’s music. The new compilation CD ‘Monkees Definitive’
was previewed, the presenter explaining that the bonus CD contains
previously released, but rare, material, while the first disc contains all
the hits and well-known songs.

‘Last Train To Clarksville’ was played, and a competition offered one of a
number of the new CD’s as a prize. The questions were;
1 where was David Jones born, was it a) Leeds, b) Manchester or c) Bolton
2 what was the Monkees first UK no 1 single ?
3 which Monkee always wore a woolly hat ?

easy ! i’ll let you know if i win a prize !

Hi there!

I was surfing around MGM Grand’s Vegas website and found the list of Show
Schedules… it lists the Monkees concert as being $45… while if you go
to Ticket Reservations, it says $51.50. I don’t know which is right,
although I suppose it would be the reservations page. You might want to
look into that if you’re going to that show.

Also, if you go to the site you can take a peek at the floor plan for the
Hollywood Theater, the one the Monkees are performing at.
