Hi Brad, Got the Monkees calendar today. It looks really super! Very
professional and colorful. I’ll enjoy looking at it all through next year.

From: Jeff Gehringer

Brad: Great work. Not only do you display many of the classic merchandise
items from the 60’s, but you’ve also included many of the toys from the
90’s. Super color, great information on important dates in Monkee history.
This is a real fan oriented calendar. Thanks again!

From: Donna

Hi Brad. I did receive the calendar and I like it very much. I love the
pics of all the collectibles, although it makes me want all the things I
don’t own. All of the little trivia throughout is fun too. I like the
song dates, those are fun. I would definitely recommend it to anyone and
hope you continue to make these in the years to come. I would certainly
get one every year. Thanks so much for the excellent service and the great
calendar.

Shoppers dive into post-Thanksgiving frenzy
By Philip Sitton
Metro/State Editor
December 02, 2002

Maybe it was the tryptophan- and carbohydrate-induced naps after
Thanksgiving dinners of turkey and dressing that helped them wake up so
early in the morning. Maybe it was just plain old caffeine, or excitement.
Whatever the case, shoppers lined up at abnormally early hours Friday to
make good on the “door buster” deals so heavily advertised in Thanksgiving
newspapers.
Hoover’s Riverchase Galleria opened up at 1 a.m., and according to Jane
Waddell, who made her way from Arab to be one of the early birds, a sizable
crowd was ready to dive in once the doors opened.
“We got here at 1 [a.m.] and had an awful time finding a parking space,” she
said. “You couldn’t walk.”
….
And at least in the case of the Galleria, the early-morning bargains weren’t
the only draw for consumers.
The mall held a concert featuring ex-Monkees front man Davy Jones in the
food court. He sang hits such as “Stepping Stone,” with witty banter
interspersed between sets, much to the delight of a large crowd gathered on
the floor and lining the upstairs railings.

Monkees News

New tentative information is available on “The Monkees” TV show’s season
one box set from Rhino Home Video. Its tentative list price is approx. $80
and it should be released sometime in the early months of 2003. This
month’s Nez News update contains some more information on his upcoming
album “Rays” as well as what is also in the works: I was told by a
Videoranch representative that Nez is trying to talk to “some folks about
collaborating on a couple of the songs.” It was also said that its “kind of
on the table right now” & that “no decisions have been made.” They
mentioned that Nez has “been working a lot on America Gene, his second
novel,” too. Although it is unknown when “Rays” or “America Gene,” he’s
happy with how both are coming out.

On TV

The VH1 special about pop idols featuring The Monkees called “Bubblegum
Babylon” will air on Dec. 1 at 2pm & on Dec. 2 at 5pm EST. Also airing on
VH1 is “Daydream Believers: The Monkees Story” on Dec. 4 at 11am EST.
Additionally, “Mom Can I Keep Her?” a 1998 movie starring Micky Dolenz will
air on SHO (and SHOe) on Dec. 5 at 9:15am EST. On Dec. 8, at 12pm EST the
Disney Channel will re-air Peter’s mid-90s appearance on the popular comedy
“Boy Meets World.”

Telemark celebrates 55th anniversary:
Published Nov. 29, 2002

“This weekend, former employees and loyal patrons will return to a
resuscitated Telemark Resort to celebrate its 55th anniversary and remember
the glory days of a pioneering place that gave life to such events as the
World Lumberjack Championships and American Birkebeiner cross-country ski
race and gave inspiration, and work, to families raised near Tony Wise’s
hometown.”
The article goes on to talk about the Telemark history, and near the end,
reports:
“Wise booked rising music stars Bonnie Raitt, Buffalo Springfield and the
Monkees, as well as Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Jerry Lee Lewis.”
