Hello Everyone,
I saw the following in next week’s TV Guide. It was part of the
description in the Close-Up section for “Video Killed The Radio
Star” on Monday.
“But as artists like David Bowie and Adam Ant established the
genre’s commercial potential, it took former Monkee Michael
Nesmith to give videos a home. In the late ’70s, Nesmith, created
Popclips, a series that set the stage for MTV. “Kids just went
crazy for this stuff,” Nesmith says. This response was noted- MTV
debuted in 1981, and forever changed the face of pop.”
